I wanted to give a picture of the kind of teacher I am – and I decided to let my former students speak for me. I have two images here. Both of them were generated using wordle, a free word cloud generating program. Word clouds are a way to visualize the frequency of words in any given text. The more often a word appears, the larger that word appears in the word cloud. For the second image, I decided to remove the 4 most frequently occurring words from the first image: “German”, “Class”, “Frau”, and “Riviere”.  Since I was the only instructor in these classes, and they were all German classes, these words come up in almost every comment! The second image reflects more on the content of the students’ comments.  Click on the images to see them in a larger resolution.
